What Breast Implant Options Are Available In Wichita Kansas?

Breast implants advancements in technology,  equipment, and improved materials have significantly improved augmentation. Our cosmetic plastic surgery practice in Wichita Kansas specializes in breast augmentation and we use these advancements.

The good news is that today’s breast implants have a more natural overall look, feel, and contour.

All breast implants have a shell made out of a polymer called silicone. Every implant is chosen specifically for the individual. During your complimentary consultation in Wichita, we will customize your desired outcomes based on your body proportions.

SILICONE GEL BREAST IMPLANTS

These implants are filled with silicone gel. Most patients (~97 %) in our Kansas practice opt for silicone gel implants. The major reason for patients choosing silicone implants is that they feel and look more natural.

SALINE BREAST IMPLANTS

These implants are filled with saline a sterile, saltwater solution. Saline is a liquid like water and, as such, the “feel” of it will be similar to a thin envelope filled with water. The result is usually a firmer, rounder appearance. The liquid-filled envelope can also cause visible wrinkling or ripples on the surface of the skin which may also be felt. The silicone implants are filled with a silicone gel so wrinkles and ripples are a lot less noticeable.

Silicone Gel

  • Silicone gel matrix

  • Softer, more natural feel

  • Less wrinkling and rippling

  • Rupture usually requires an ultrasound or MRI to diagnosis

Saline

  • Saline-filled silicone shell

  • Firmer

  • Wrinkling and rippling are more common

  • Deflation visible, saline absorbed

Silicone gel and saline breast implants have their advantages and disadvantages. We use both in our practice and can customize the type and size of the implant to help fit different types of outcomes.
